30yrs ago I crewed on a 30ft Oceanic for 3yrs and a 39ft Moody for 2 yrs. It was mainly around the Channel islands, France, Portugal, Spain, Beliarics. I did my Day Skip.cert. in June of 2008 with Jersey sailing and I did the 6 day Le Tournoi Challenge as crew and communication support for the Deaf Team. Although it has been a long time since I did any sailing I'm regularly on the water with a varity of RIBs so my general boating skills are still intact. I'm doing the Coastal skip / Yacht master theory Feb 2009 and I'm looking to be assessed at the end of 2009 or early 2010 but I need a lot more experience in the mean time. I'm happy to crew over the winter as it would keep what skills I have fresh. |
