Elizabeth Marina Storm Gate Removal
Published 11:03 on 25 Mar 2021
The Elizabeth Marina storm gate will be removed from the entrance of Elizabeth marina for inspection and maintenance. A barge will be used to lift the gate and relocate it to the NNQ where it will be surveyed. The project will be undertaken in 3 parts:
Part A | Enabling work will commence on 29th March. Works will be undertaken when the marina is closed therefore access to the marina will not be affected. - Mariners are advised to navigate within the marina with caution during times when the marina gate is closed as divers will be operating in the vicinity of the gate. - Further information can be obtained from the marina office, the PoJ website or from St Helier VTS on VHF Ch14.
Part B | The lifting operation and relocation of the gate to the NNQ will commence on 7th April and will last for a period of 3 days. During this time there will be no access to or from the marina. See separate NtoM specific to this part of the project.
Part C | A team of divers and specialists will survey the remaining gate infrastructure at the entrance to the marina commencing on the 9th April for up to 5 days. This will result in reduced periods of access due to stoplogs and the marina tidal gates being locked in the upright position. St Helier VTS will manage access to the marina during this period of the work. See separate NtoM specific to this part of the project.
