Virtual Racing

Virtual Regatta Inshore delivers high-intensity online racing, that is not only compliant with the Racing Rules of Sailing, but is also free!

Within the App, there is a Sailing School section for you to practice your boat handling and understand the game features before entering your first race.

The Virtual Regatta Inshore App is free to play and is available on PC, Apple and Android devices.

How to Enter
The regattas are open to members of St. Helier Yacht Club.
Entry should be made by emailing the following information to: sailing.shyc@gmail.com

Virtual Schedules
Virtual regattas take place each week on:
Sunday mornings at 09:00
Wednesday evenings at 20:00
Retired gents (non spinnaker) racing on Tuesday afternoons at 15:00. To enter please contact Rhys - rhysperkins@aol.com
Each regatta will consist of five back to back races taking a total of approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Getting Started

Open the Game
For computer users, visit the Virtual Regatta website
For phone and tablet users, download the VR Inshore App.

Create an Account
Select the green button I create my account to create a new account.
Complete the relevant fields then tick to accept the terms of use & privacy policy.

Enter a Race
To enter a SHYC race, select the Custom Race button on the main window.
Click anywhere on the screen avoiding the account upgrade advert. Our races are free.
Select the padlock button at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the race code that you received in the yacht club email then click the green button to enter.

Sailing School
The Virtual Regatta App has a basic sailing school which we recommend you use to familiarise yourself with the handing of a virtual yacht.
