Saturday 26th August to Monday 28th August 2023

After the success of last year, your rally committee are putting on a bank holiday rally to Carteret who are ready to welcome us with the same hospitality as last year. This will be limited to 40 boats, due to the marina having another event at the same time and space being at full capacity this weekend. Therefore, to secure your space please ensure you complete the entry form and make payment to the office by 21st August.

Payment via card over the phone during office hours or BACS payment to the following account with your Boat Name in the ref.

St Helier Yacht Club

Sort Code 30-94-61

Account Number 00055133

Carteret Gate Openings & Closings and tide times

Please be advised the times above are when it opens and closes and you will need to work out what time you can clear the sill for your draft of boat.

Saturday 26th August

Complimentary BBQ at Barneville-Carteret Yacht Club from 7pm. There will be a tent and seating for 100 people so should the weather not be on our side to eat outside the BBQ will still go ahead. We will need volunteers to take the clubs BBQs over, help cooking and a few other bits so anyone that can assist please contact the office in the first instance.

To save waste, please bring your own plates and cutlery, etc.  The yacht club bar will be open and serving drinks for you to purchase separately.

Sunday 28th May

Pontoon party 5pm-7pm please make sure to bring your own glass! Make your own dinner arrangements.

Customs

All boats are required to submit their own customs declaration form and you will be advised of the time you must meet them at the ferry terminal which is approx. a 30-minute walk. Please be advised that the customs officers come down from Cherbourg so please ensure you are at the ferry terminal at the time they specify and dont mess them around! Dont forget to also submit your exit form so they give you a date and time to come back to be stamped back out.

The form can be found here:

Microsoft Word - PREAVIS immigration MARITIME Cherbourg.docx (kpratik.com)

If customs agree to the same procedures as last time with a set time for everyone to attend for stamping in and another time for stamping out, we will communicate this to all those entered.

VHF Channel

Please contact the marina control on VHF Channel 9 on arrival.  They have the list of boats and will direct you to your allocated pontoon.  With so many boats registered, there is no room for winging it so you must make contact to find out where you are to berth so they can fit us all in.

Marina Fees

For our rally, Carteret marina will give all registered boats a 50% discount for the Saturday night.  Each skipper is responsible for the payment of their own mooring fees, so please settle these directly with the marina office over the weekend and before you leave.

Entry Fee

There is a £10 entry fee per boat plus £5 per additional non-member SHYC on-board. This is non-refundable unless we cancel the rally (only refunds for exceptional, not because you simply changed your mind after paying!) Entry fee payment must be made by 21st August or you will not be catered for at the BBQ and will have to make their own arrangements as we have to pre-order the food with the butcher.
