St Malo Evacuation Race & Rally

17th - 19 June 2022

The annual rally to St Malo, to commemorate St Helier Yacht Clubs participation in the historic evacuation of Allied troops in 1940, will take place on Saturday 18 June, with the Evacuation Race from St Malo on Sunday 19 June, 2022.

This year we plan to celebrate a visit to St Malo by Mrs Irene Probstein, the last known living person from the evacuation, who was rescued from the port and brought to safety in Jersey aboard the Langlois family boat Callou in 1940.

Rally and race boats should gather at St Malo in good time by 11.00 (CET), dressed overall if possible, ready to lock into the Bassin Vaubin at 11.27 on Saturday.

Moorings in the Bassin Vaubin, alongside the Quai St Louis, have been arranged with the port authority on Saturday 18th June for one night, to be billed afterwards at £35 per vessel.

A barbecue lunch is available to book for all race and rally crews at La Trinquette, adjacent to the Vauban marina, at 13.00, with a welcome drink on arrival, at £30 per head (£10 deposit required on booking).   Numbers for this lunch are limited, so reservation is essential.

An aperitif will also be available from 17.00 on the quayside, with the compliments of your Yacht Club, for all race and rally crews before you make your way to your dinner venue.

All those requesting a mooring space and or proposing to attend the BBQ lunch must complete the Race & Rally registration form STRICTLY by 1 June.  Late bookings will NOT be accepted.
