Rally Information
Our Rally events are open to all types of boats - motor, sail and RIBs, fast and slow alike - and focus on the social side of boating and cruising in company, helping less experienced skippers gain in confidence.
The Club organises trips away to popular ports like Carteret, Granville, St Cast, Guernsey and Herm, as well as to some of our reefs, such as Les Ecrehous and Les Iles Chausey.
Each June, we hold a very special event, the Evacuation Rally to St Malo, to commemorate the Clubs part in helping to evacuate allied troops from the city, just before it was occupied by the advancing German army in 1940, earning the Club its defaced red ensign.
There is usually a welcome drink arranged for all crews at the destination yacht club, followed by a meal for those who wish to join in, or a barbeque cooked by our own volunteers. A modest registration fee charged for each event, which can be refunded or credited if we have to cancel an event due to bad weather. We also aim to hold local events, such as at St Aubins Fort, to give Members a taste of our events without much travelling.
We encourage all Members to give one of our events a try, but you will generally need to resister as soon as the newsletter announces the event, as we are often limited in the number of boats that can be accommodated in the foreign marina.

2026 Rally Schedule
April 3rd-6th Easter Rally to Guernsey and Herm
Welcome reception at GYC or RCIYC in St Peter Port on the Friday, with a trip over to Herm for a meal on the Sunday.
May 23rd 25th Granville & Chausey Rally
Welcome reception at Granville Yacht Club on the Saturday with optional day in Chausey on the Bank Holiday Monday.
June 12th 14th St Malo Evacuation Rally
Join the overnight racers with an early-morning mass locking through to the Bassin Vauban and reception on the Saturday.
July 17th 19th Carteret Rally and BBQ
This event is becoming a summer highlight, join us for a big barbeque at Carteret Yacht Club, visit Barneville market and the many restaurants.
August 29th 31st Rally to St Quay Portrieux
Join the racing crews to this 24hour access marina for a welcome reception and perhaps extend the trip to visit Paimpol and Ile-de-Brehat over the Bank Holiday weekend.
September 11th 13th St Cast Rally
Join the racing teams again for a reception at one of the restaurants on the quay, and explore this pretty list town.
September 26th 28th Rallye Hubert to Granville
Always a fun event, with a quiz round the Granville bars to find Hubert.
