Tour Des Ports Regatta Arrives In Jersey For Race Start

The Tour des Ports regatta will start here in Jersey on Sunday, 7th July for the first time in over 40 years. The Regatta is the largest sailing event in the Channel Islands and Normandy. Over 80 sailing boats and 500 sailors will be arriving on Friday and Saturday and moor up at Albert Pier for the race start on Sunday.
Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development will host Jean Morin, President of the Departement de la Manche, at a reception to be held at the St Helier Yacht Club at noon on Saturday, 6th July. A Crew Dinner for all the sailors, officials, sponsors and guests will follow in a marquee on Albert Pier starting at 18:30 on Saturday. The first race in the Regatta will start on Sunday, 7th July in St Aubins Bay with a race to Granville to be followed by races to Barneville-Carteret, St Peter Port, Dielette, Cherbourg and ending in St Vaast La Hogue on Friday, 12 July.
The Regatta Start in Jersey is organised by the St Helier Yacht Club and the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club with the sponsorship of Jersey Electricity, BoatFayre, the Ministry for Sustainable Economics and Jersey Marinas amongst others.
