Rally to St Cast ***Cancelled***

Published 10:17 on 24 Apr 2025
Im sure you will have been following the forecast as closely as we have over the last couple of days. Having consulted Jersey Met this morning and discussed the options with the Office Manager, we were faced with a choice between cancelling the event and running with diminished attendance basically the sailing boats and a couple of the larger motor boats. Whilst the forecast for Saturday does show a window of opportunity to get into St Cast in the afternoon, the wind strength is forecast to rise from Sunday morning to F4 to 5, with gusts to 30 knots, with no sign of this ending before next Thursday. Added to this, the forecast includes intermittent rain for most of the time, which will not make for a pleasant experience.
On this basis, the decision has been taken to CANCEL the St Cast Rally. We obviously regret this, but as a couple of you had already pulled out, it will not come as a huge surprise to you all.
As the Club has cancelled the event, you are able to claim back your entry fee. You may opt to carry your fee over for the next event, or contact the office to get a refund on your payment card. Please let the office know which you choose to do.
If any of you choose to go to St Cast regardless, please contact their marina office to arrange moorings in the usual way, as I will be cancelling the group booking. So we now look forward to our following event, the St Malo Evacuation Rally please make sure you have registered for this if you intend to join us.
Kind Regards,
Chris
