Calling all sailors… a meeting on Thursday 21st October, SHYC Westward Room at 19:00.

Following the hugely popular and successful meeting last year the sailing committee are holding a meeting again to share our (and your) reflections on the 2021 season and our plans (and maybe your ideas) for 2022.

We will also be providing an update regarding the World Sailing Regulations structural inspection requirements and sharing some plans regarding next seasons Biscay Race.

Although the framework of the 2022 racing programme is already well advanced, committee wanted to give fleet members the opportunity to give feedback and suggestions before we finalise it. If there are other topics you would like to discuss or have questions, please give us as much advanced notice by emailing

We would particularly like to hear from, (and see) members of the Class 2 fleet as we would really like to develop greater participation in this class next year.

Finally, please note that the postponed Kalina Shields Races have been rescheduled to 31st October and will be our last formal race of the season.

Fair winds,

Nick OHare

Chairman of Sailing Committee
