Wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Festive Challenge and Carols
7 boats braved the stiff Westerly wind to draw a festive picture. It was open to all boats, which started by motoring past the Club Balcony, to present themselves in Festive dress in front of former Commodores. They then created their festive image in St Aubins Bay. A panel of junior judges, guided by Kate, chose the winner of sail and of motor. Congratulations to the winners and well done to everyone who took part.

We were then given a real treat with the OHare family singers, thank you to all the performers, Susie and all the Social Committee, for making the afternoon such great fun for both children and adults. The pièce de résistance was Santa Clause arriving on board the RNLI all-weather lifeboat George Sullivan to great excitement of all the children, and I have to say adults too, it was such an impressive sight. Santa Clause was duly delivered to the Club, then, gave out his presents to the children in the clubhouse.

The New Year
I hope you have all made your New Year resolutions. For this year why not join one the Club committees! We would like to use your skills on our various committees, so please contact Jason or Marie-Claire in the office to find out more.

It was reported in the Independent that the European Unions much-delayed Entry/Exit Scheme (EES) is due to start on 6 October 2024. The pan-EU project is described as: An automated IT system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of European countries. There is always a but, the member states will need to confirm during August, that they are ready for the launch of the EES. So for us going in to France it would currently appear that for the 2024 summer, we can expect a similar situation to 2023.

Wishing you all great boating in 2024.
