Our RNLI 200 anniversary parade was a great success and a really big thank you must go to the organising group of David de Carteret, who also directed operations on the night, Rhys Perkins, Jason Manning, Ian Moisan, Nick OHare and Fleur Moisan.

We received great publicity from the media and there are some superb photographs on our website, which capture the event perfectly. Thank you to everyone who took part.

You can watch the spectacular footage taken by the drone using this link.

The following was received from Barclay Harvey, Inshore Lifeboat Helm,

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for organizing the spectacular flotilla on Monday. The event was a magnificent tribute to the invaluable services provided by the RNLI, and we are equally grateful to the St. Helier Yacht Club for your outstanding efforts in putting on this event.

Celebrating 200 years as a charity is a rare and remarkable milestone, and your involvement made it all the more special. The manner in which you coordinated and executed the flotilla was nothing short of exceptional.  You absolutely smashed it, and the coverage today in the JEP was most impressive.

On a lighter note, I heard there were a few sore heads the next day a testament to the fantastic time had by all!

Thank you once again for your support.

Chair of Sailing
After 6 years in the role, Nick OHare is stepping down as Chair of the Sailing Committee. Nick has given so much time to the Club to nurture members to come out and race, coming up with new ideas and initiatives. Thank you Nick.

Nick returning from Granville where he took on the role of M. Hubert in the Club's annual Rallye Hubert event.

British Keelboat League
We have five young members who have gained entry to the British Keelboat League (BKL) being held at the Royal Southern Yacht Club (Hamble) over the 27-29th September. The Jersey team received a wild card entry to the event, with the entry being made under St Helier Yacht Club.

The BKL breaks down barriers to participation in keelboat racing, as boats are provided by the British Keelboat League hosts. Delivered through the concept of concentrated inter-club team sailing, which is highly successful in other parts of Europe and across North America. Sailors compete representing their club in a series of short sprint races against teams from other clubs in their region in a qualifying round of weekend racing. The finest teams from each region then battle it out in a national final to be crowned the British Keelboat League champions.
The Club is delighted to be supporting the team, which consists of Todd (Team captain), Kai (Team skipper), Tyler, Ritchie and Charlie (Team manager and point of contact ashore).

We wish then every success in this exciting event.
