I hope you are all having a very happy Easter.
We have been tempted by a few days of warm weather, but as I write this, the forecast may give 10˚, it also states feels like 3˚!
The Club Easter rally to Guernsey is going ahead, everyone has been keeping a keen eye on the weather, which has become changeable, with some strong winds. So much preparation has been put in by our rally committee, to make this a really fun and sociable event, which includes an Easter egg scavenger hunt and a Joyce Barber quiz.
As some of us begin to think of cruising somewhere, lets bear in mind where and how we anchor. This is an interesting article on the RYA website about responsible anchoring:
On the cruising theme, we have a talk being given by Peter and Gill Pitcher on boating in Holland and the Baltic. It is on Tuesday 9th April, starting at 1900hrs in the Westward Room. Please let the office know if you wish to come to the talk.
The Club was decorated superbly for the St Patricks themed fitting out lunch with much music and singing. Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a success.
April sees the start of the Offshore series for the racing yachts with the race to the North West Minquiers buoy and back. We also see the start of the Coastal series, going West about Jersey, and for the inshore racing, the Hettich Evening Series. Mid-April we have the start of the Alex Bleasby series, a busy month for the Club, with our Marine auction also at the end of April.
And of course, dont forget, the Clubs AGM is on Wednesday 17th April at 2000 hrs.
