Lieutenant Governor's Reception

We were delighted to welcome  the new Lieutenant-Governor His Excellency Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd to the Club on 17th January.

This gave him an opportunity to meet our ex Commodores and the members of our Executive and Subcommittees together with their partners.

Both His Excellency and his wife Dr Karen Kyd have been made Honorary Members.  The Commodore welcomed him to the Club and explained the history behind the defaced red ensign. He presented him the Governor with  a Club tie, Club Burgee and a defaced Red Ensign with the permit so that it can be flown on his boat. His Excellency replied thanking St Helier Yacht Club for making him an Honorary Member and for the gifts.
